(b) is correct.
  • Note that it is far better to raise 1 to 2 - in spite of the lack of a fourth spade – than rebid those moth-eaten clubs. With three poor spades and six decent clubs, though, you’d rebid 2.
  • With Hand (a) you have enough – six Losing Tricks – to jump to 3
  • Hand (c) is better still, worth 4 and if playing splinter bids (recommended) then, a jump to 4, showing a 4 bid with a singleton diamond, fits the bill well.
